Terms of Service
1.- Marina Meier will issue a free, formal, no-obligation quote for each project once the document to be translated, the details about the interpreting assignment or the copywriting/transcreation brief have been sent. All quotes shall remain valid for a period of 30 calendar days.
2.- No project work will be started unless the client has signed and approved the quote in writing via e-mail.
3.- Repeat clients do not have to sign every quote, but are kindly asked to approve the quote via e-mail.
4.- Full payment up-front is required from all private individuals by the payment method specified.
5.- For companies and organisations, my payment terms are Net 30 by the payment method specified. Any invoices not paid within 30 days of receipt may be subject to penalties.
6.- For long assignments or texts, Marina Meier may request an initial payment and periodic partial payments on terms to be agreed.
7.- Volume discounts are available for large projects.
8.- Conference interpreting assignments are quoted on a half-day or full-day basis, plus any applicable travel time and expenses.
9.- Liaison interpreting assignments require a two-hour minimum plus any applicable preparation and travel time.
10.- No claim will be considered after 7 business days from the project delivery date. If a claim is well founded, Marina Meier will ensure that corrections are made as soon as possible and competently without entitlement to any additional compensation.
11.- Marina Meier retains copyright until the invoice has been settled in full.
12.- If a project is cancelled, Marina Meier will be paid for all work completed up to the point of cancellation.
13.- If an interpreting assignment is cancelled within 48 hours of its start time, Marina Meier will be paid in full the total quoted fee.
14.- Invoices are not subject to VAT under UK fiscal regulation.
15.- Marina Meier abides by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting’s Code of Conduct.
16.- All documents and information shared will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
17.- Any disputes arising from the above Terms of Service shall be interpreted in accordance with English Law and subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
