Why do I collect and process your personal data?

I collect, store and use clients’ and potential clients’ personal data for the following reasons:

· to issue a quotation
· to provide translation, interpreting and content writing services
· to issue an invoice
· to comply with legal requirements

What personal data do I collect?

I may collect the following details from you:

· name
· postal address
· e-mail address
· telephone number
· tax-ID

If you send me personal documents such as birth certificates or medical records that contain special categories of personal data such as date and place of birth and health information, then that data will also be collected and stored, but only for the specific purpose of issuing a quotation or translating the documents and issuing the translator’s certificate of accuracy.

I do not use any of your personal data for marketing purposes.

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

The legal basis for processing your personal data is to perform the services you request or to take the necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (“performance of a contract”).

The legal basis for processing the special categories of personal data described above is your explicit consent for me to translate, revise or edit that information (“consent”).

Who else may receive your personal data?

I will not pass on your personal data to third parties without your permission.

For administrative purposes, other parties, such as the providers of my cloud storage, website and e-mail hosting services, may have access to your personal data. All these parties are compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, or in the case of American companies, are self-certified under the US Privacy Shield framework.

How long do I keep your personal data?

I will keep your personal data for 6 years unless you instruct me to delete it sooner.

How do I protect your data?

I take all possible precautionary measures to ensure your personal data is safeguarded. These include updating my computer and other devices regularly, having anti-virus software and firewalls installed, and using securely stored back-ups and password protection.

What are your rights?

You may contact me at any time to request that I remove all your personal data contained in my files. I will do so without undue delay, and certainly no later than 30 calendar days following the receipt of your removal request.
