Prior to my freelance career, I worked as an Assistant Project Manager with Akorbi Language Consulting. A fast growing and award winning translation agency located in Texas, United States. There, I was in charge of managing English<>Spanish translation and interpreting projects in a variety of fields, mainly health care and advertising. I served as a liaison between clients and the carefully selected and highly experienced linguistic team, assisting with terminology management, queries, pre- and post-DTP and final QA.

At the beginning of 2009, I relocated to Edinburgh, Scotland. I am currently working at Sykes Global Services Limited as a Technical Support Agent for Sony VAIO Spain, providing information and assistance on product use, hardware and software problems to customers via telephone and e-mail.

I am also working freelance, splitting my time between translation, localization and proofreading projects and enjoying a worldwide and diverse clientele. I had the opportunity to participate in very interesting and gratifying projects and to collaborate with extremely talented colleagues, from whom I have learned a great deal. 

I graduated from the renowned and respected IES Nº 28 “Olga Cossettini,” Rosario, Argentina, in October 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literary, Technical and Scientific Translation (EN<>SP). My native language is Argentine Spanish, and my office is situated in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I offer professional translation services from English into Spanish, as well as bilingual editing/reviewing/proofreading. Most of my translations are targeted to either Latin America or the Hispanic market in the U.S.A. I also translate into International Spanish. Through my years of experience, I have acquired subject matter expertise in a number of fields (listed below). But as I also like variety in my projects, other areas are always welcome, provided that I can guarantee a quality translation.

I am a proficient user of SDL Trados, the market-leading CAT tool. It enhances my translation process and increases my productivity by ensuring consistency in both style and terminology throughout my translation, by accelerating turnaround time, and by reducing the cost for my clients. I also work with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

I am equipped with the latest general and specialized electronic dictionaries. I maintain my own subject-, client- and project-specific glossaries and have at my disposal my own FTP site for the safe transfer of files.

For large projects, rush jobs or projects requiring several rounds of quality assurance, I team up with a network of highly skilled and trusted colleagues.

My daily output is roughly 2,500 words.

My client portfolio includes translation agencies, businesses, colleagues and private individuals predominantly based in Argentina, Canada, Chile, the United States, and the United Kingdom. I have completed translations for Fortune 500 companies and I work on a regular freelance basis with some of the biggest translation companies in the world.

My rates are extremely competitive and depend on subject matter, level of complexity/technicality, turnaround time, length and format. I need to see the text or at least a representative sample of it in order to give you an accurate quote. E-mail me your document for a free quotation!

Billing is based on source word count, unless otherwise agreed. For first time clients, I will require an initial deposit of 25% of the total fee. Invoices are due upon receipt, unless otherwise specified. As a rule of thumb, I generally do not accept payment terms longer than 30-45 days from the date of invoice.
